Two-C practice

Two-C practice

The name for a GP practice run by the NHS Board (rather than by GPs and/or other partners, as is the case for practices with 17C or 17J contracts).
The Primary Medical Services (Scotland) Act 2004 amended the NHS (Scotland) Act 1978, by placing a duty on NHS Boards in Scotland to provide or secure “primary medical services” for their populations, which they accomplish by making arrangements with 17C and/or 17J practices. They can also arrange for services to be provided directly (”direct provision”) or via a “Health Board Primary Medical Services” contract.
