Summary Care Record

An electronic record which will give healthcare staff faster and easier access to essential patient information to ensure safe treatment of patients who relocate in A&E after their GP’s practice is closed. SCRs are not obligatory and patients may opt out of providing information; children will automatically have an SCR made for them.

Components of SCR
Diseases from which the patient is suffering and type of treatment being given; drug prescriptions; known allergies.
