SERPINI2

SERPINI2

A gene on chromosome 3q26 that encodes a member of the serpin superfamily of serine proteinase inhibitors, which play key roles in regulating a variety of processes, including coagulation, fibrinolysis, development, malignancy and inflammation. SERPINI2 may have a role in a growth control, possibly via growth-suppressing pathway, which, when awry, has been linked to pancreatic carcinogenesis.
