(AEMT) (ăd-vanst ĕ-mĕrgĕn-sē medi-kăl tek-nishŭn) An emergency medical technician who has received advanced training to provide minimal advanced life support (ALS); usually works under direct medical control. Minimum level of certification to staff an ALS ambulance.
