(sĕr-tō'lē), [MIM*305700] the absence from the seminiferous tubules of the testes of germinal epithelium, only Sertoli cells are present; there is sterility due to azoospermia but no other sexual abnormality, Leydig cells are normal, but the level of gonadotrophins in the plasma and urine is increased; probably represents one form of seminiferous tubule dysgenesis.
