Sertoli's CellSertoli’s Cellone of a group of epithelial cells that line the lumina of the convoluted tubules of the testes in man and other vertebrates. Sertoli’s cells are characterized by large nuclei and a high content of glycogen, fats, and ascorbic acid. They were first described by the Italian scientist E. Sertoli in 1865. Spermatogenic epithelial cells develop in the pockets formed by the cytoplasm of Sertoli’s cells. Sertoli’s cells (together with the interstitial Leydig’s cells) furnish nutrients to sexual cells and possibly produce a hormone that regulates the development of sexual cells. Sertoli's cell
