A variety of technological devices are used for automatic troop control: automatic information sensors and receiver-transmitters; logical information devices; universal and specialized computers; devices for feeding and retrieving information; installations for visual presentations to groups and individuals; automatic copying-duplicating machinery; television; and so on. Automatic troop control broadens the field of information on the basis of which the situation is evaluated and decisions on combat are made; it reduces the lag of information behind actual developments; it quantitatively and qualitatively enriches the set of algorithms in the work of the command agencies; it reduces the time officers spend on auxiliary processes; and it contributes to combat readiness and efficiency of troops and of combat machinery.
