Summer Festival

July 4There is something for everybody on the Fourth of July in Owensboro, Ky. A highlight has been the "Anything That Goes and Floats Race," in which contestants must have a vehicle that gets them to the Ohio River and then floats them for a decent distance on the river. Vehicles that have made it into the water include bicycles attached to a canoe, a skateboard tied to a plastic raft, and large pontoons powered by bicycles on land and paddlewheels in the water.
Other events include musical entertainment, sporting events, and, of course, fireworks.
