Pekin Duck

 

a breed of ducks raised for meat. It was bred in China. Pekin ducks are large and have a somewhat uplifted body. The feathers are white with a cream-colored tinge. The males weigh approximately 4 kg, and the females approximately 3.5 kg. The ducklings, which weigh 2.2–2.5 kg 50 to 60 days after hatching, yield tender, juicy meat. The female lays from 130 to 150 eggs per year. Pekin ducks are raised in many countries, including the USSR.
