Sumsar

an urban-type settlement in Ala-Buka Raion, Osh Oblast, Kirghiz SSR. Located at the foot of the Chatkal Range, on a highway, 60 km northwest of the Namangan railroad station. Population, 6,100 (1975). Complex metal ores are mined in the area. A branch of the Osh Association of Local Arts and Crafts Enterprises is in Sumsar.
