It rises on the Lena Plateau and flows along the plateau’s southwestern edge. It is fed primarily by snow, with high water from May through June. The mean flow rate 33 km from the mouth is 47.6 cu m per sec. The Peledui freezes in October or November, and the ice breaks up in May. Common salt is mined at the river’s mouth, near the settlement of Peledui.
