Vorwärts!

a German newspaper published twice weekly in Paris from January to December 1844. Under the influence of K. Marx, who joined the editorial staff in the summer of 1844, Vorwärts! reflected communist viewpoints. It published a number of articles by Marx and F. Engels.

When the Prussian authorities demanded that the publication of Vorwärts! be forbidden, the government of F. Guizot found itself justified in deporting Marx and a number of his co-workers, and the publication of the newspaper was curtailed.
