Sunda

a strait between the islands of Sumatra and Java in Indonesia. It connects the Indian Ocean with the Java Sea. The width of the strait at its narrowest point is 22 km, and the depth in the channel at its shallowest point is approximately 50 m. The Krakatoa volcano is located in Sunda Strait.
