arthritis panel

arthritis panel

A standard panel of lab tests (e.g., uric acid, antinuclear antibodies, rheumatoid factor, erythrocyte sedimentation rate) formerly used to evaluate possible causes of arthritis.

For Medicare or Medicaid reimbursement (US), the AP includes fluorescent antibody screen for antinuclear antibodies, quantification of rheumatoid factor and uric acid, and ESR; because of abuse of panels, many have been discarded and are no longer “bundled” as a billable unit of tests.
