Service Interval

Service Interval

(Russian, mezhremontnyi probeg, “interrepair run”), the distance (in km) traveled by railroad rolling stock or motor vehicles between major repairs. Norms for service intervals are usually set depending on the norms for distance run by the equipment before the first major repair (the prerepair run); modifications of the equipment, operating conditions, the zone or region of operations, and other such factors are taken into account.
