Baitemirov, Nasirdin

 

Born 1916 in the village of Kegeti, Chuiskii Raion. Kirghiz Soviet writer; teacher and correspondent for republic newspapers. His novella Azamat (1948) portrays the heroic deeds of Soviet pilots. The novel Triumph (1949) is also on a military theme. Student life in a vocational school is portrayed in the novella The Young Generation (1951). The theme of socialist transformation of the countryside is elaborated in the novel The Last Cartridge (1955). Baitemirov is the author of the nove A Witness to History (1967), about the establishment of Soviet power in Kirghizia. He is the author of the collection of verses The Melody of the Heart (1955) and of the collection of satirical short stories Wit (1956).
