Pritikin diet


A diet high—> 90% of calories—in complex carbohydrates (e.g., whole grains, fruits, and vegetables), low in protein, fat, cholesterol, with severely restricted caffeine, salt, and sugar. The Pritikin diet reduces the risk of coronary artery disease and hypertension, and may benefit arthritis, diabetes, gout, stroke, and other Western diseases
