Bernard Current

diadynamic current in medicine; an electric current in the form of pulses of a specific shape with a frequency of 50–100 Hz. In diathermy, alternating portions of varied length are supplied to the patient. The current is named for the French physician P. Bernard, who proposed in 1946 a method of applying these currents for medical purposes.
