Standing Nursing and Midwifery Advisory Committee

A statutory advisory non-departmental public body (quango) established by legislation in 1949 as one of 9 separate bodies to advise the Minister and the Central Health Services Committee on services provided under the National Health Service Act 1946. The SNMAC was disbanded, along with the Standing Medical Advisory Committee, in 2005.
