Facilities:50 tent/trailer/RV campsites, pioneer campground, backcountryAdirondack shelter, 2 picnic shelters, hiking trails (20+ miles), paved"Rails to Trails" path, 63-acre lake, swimming beach, tennis courts,interpretive center, gift shop.
Activities:Camping, fishing, whitewater paddling (seasonal/limited), swimming,aesthetic water releases (spring and fall), hiking,bicycling (including mountain biking), rock climbing/rappelling (requires permit), interpretive programs.
Special Features:One of the most spectacular canyons in the eastern US, the gorge is twomiles long and nearly 1,000 feet deep. A suspension bridge crosses 80feet above the gorge, affording breathtaking views of the river andwaterfalls. Visitors must obtain a free permit (limit 100 per day) fromthe visitor center before hiking down to the gorge floor. The park'sinterpretive center features an award-winning film that takes viewerson a journey through the gorge.
