Talnakh

an urban-type settlement in Krasnoiarsk Krai, RSFSR, under the jurisdiction of the Noril’sk city soviet. Situated at the foot of the Kharael Mountains, 24 km north of Noril’sk, with which it is linked by rail and road. Population, 24,000 (1975). Copper and nickel ores are mined near Talnakh for processing at the Noril’sk Mining and Metallurgical Combine.
