Snyder sampler

[′snī·dər ′sam·plər] (engineering) A mechanical device for obtaining small representative quantities from a moving stream of pulverized or granulated solids; it consists of a cast-iron plate revolving in a vertical plane on a horizontal axis with an inclined sample spout; the material to be sampled comes to the sampler by way of an inclined chute whenever the sample spout comes in line with the moving stream.
