Special Features:Refuge is part of the 2,700-acre Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve. It is one of southern California's largest remaining salt marshes without a road or railroad trestle running through it.
Habitats: 1,051 acres of estuarine habitats: open water, tidal salt marsh, beach dune, riparian, vernal pool, and upland.
Access: Open daily during daylight hours.
Wild life: Endangered species include light-footed clapper rail, California least tern, Least Bell's vireo, and California brown pelican.
