Tamerlanovy Vorota

 

(Gate of Tamerlane), the narrowest part of the mountain pass between the northwestern termination of the Mal’guzar Range and the Nuratau Mountains in the western part of the Pamir-Alai mountain system, in the Uzbek SSR. The Tamerlanovy Vorota measures 120–130 m in width, narrowing to 35–40) m in some places. The Sanzar River and the Tashkent-Samarkand railroad go through the pass.
