Superciliary ArchSuperciliary Archa longitudinal elevation of the frontal bone above the orbits. In modern man the superciliary arches are separated from the supraorbital triangles by small depressions and do not form a continuous superciliary ridge. The superciliary arches are developed to various degrees in different modern racial groups. They are more strongly expressed in men than in women and thus serve as one of the characteristics by which a skeleton’s sex can be determined. superciliary archsu·per·cil·i·ar·y arch[TA]su·per·cil·i·ar·y arch(sū'pĕr-sil'ē-ar-ē ahrch) [TA]superciliary archsuperciliary arch
