Uzbekfilm

a film studio established in Tashkent in 1925. The studio was called the Shark Iulduz (Star of the East) until 1936, when it was renamed Uzbekfil’m. During the Great Patriotic War (1941–45) it was known as the Tashkent Film Studio, and in 1958 it was again renamed Uzbekfil’m (seeUZBEK SSR: Motion pictures).
