Russkii Ostrov

 

the name of several islands in the Arctic and Pacific oceans. The largest ones are in the Kara Sea and Peter the Great Bay of the Sea of Japan.

Russkii Ostrov in the Kara Sea is part of the Nordenskjöld Archipelago. It is approximately 38 km long and up to 14 km wide and has an area of 309 sq km. The island is covered with tundra vegetation. A polar station has been on the island since 1935.

Russkii Ostrov in Peter the Great Bay is located south of Vladivostok. It measures approximately 18 km long and up to 13 km wide. It is covered with broad-leaved forests.
