Russkoe Znamia
(Russian Banner), a daily newspaper of the Black Hundreds, press organ of the Union of the Russian People. It began publication in St. Petersburg in November 1905. The publisher was A. I. Dubrovin, and the editors included Dubrovin and P. F. Bulatsel’. The paper was supported by Nicholas II. Its circulation was 14,500 in 1907 and 3,000 in 1915. Russkoe znamia was banned by a decree of the Executive Committee of the Petrograd Soviet on Mar. 5 (18), 1917.
