释义 | Waner, PaulWaner, Paul (Glee)(1903–65) baseball player; born in Harrah, Okla. During his 20-year career as an outfielder (1926–45), mostly with the Pittsburgh Pirates, he posted a lifetime batting average of .333, compiled 3,152 hits, and won the Most Valuable Player Award in 1927. He was nicknamed "Big Poison." His brother, Lloyd Waner (1906–82), who was called "Little Poison," played outfield for the Pirates as well. Both have been elected to baseball's Hall of Fame. |
