Vasilii Fedorov

Fedorov, Vasilii Dmitrievich

Born Feb. 23, 1918, in Kemerovo. Soviet Russian poet. Member of the CPSU since 1945.

Fedorov graduated from the M. Gorky Institute of Literature in 1950. He first published his works in 1944. Fedorov is the author of the poetry collection Lyrical Trilogy (1947), Forest Springs (1955), The Dawning Cock-a-Doodle-Doo (1966), and Seventh Heaven (1968), the last two of which were awarded the M. Gorky State Prize of the RSFSR in 1968. His later collections include Wings to Noonday (1971) and Book of Love and Faith (1974). Fedorov also wrote the narrative poems Lenin’s Gift (1954) and Venus Sold (1958), the drama in verse The Golden Vein (1958), the novellas Maturity (1953) and The Volunteers (1955). and the book Such Is Our Time: Of Poetry and Poets (1973). In addition to lyric poetry on nature and love, his works include many poems in praise of Soviet man and his achievements in work and on the field of battle. Fedorov also publishes articles on poetry.

Fedorov has been awarded two orders.
