Established: 1938.
Location:In the mouth of the Savannah River, adjacent to the Georgia state line.
Special Features:Endangered species, including piping plovers and wood storks have been observed on refuge land, and shortnose sturgeon and manatees have been in waters bordering the refuge.
Habitats: 100 acres covered with scrub vegetation and sand deposits and partly bordered by saltwater marsh.
Access: Closed to the public.
Wild life: Migratory birds.
