Tanen Taunggyi
Tanen Taunggyi
a mountain range in western Thailand and in Burma. The range measures approximately 500 km in length and rises to an elevation of 2,080 m. Composed primarily of granites, limestones, and sandstones, it is cut by deep longitudinal valleys into parallel mountain massifs, especially in the west and southwest. The range has deciduous tropical forests mixed with teak; above 1,200 m there are sclerophyl evergreen forest stands. In the western spurs there are deposits of zinc ore at Mae Sot and tungsten ore at Mae Sariang.
