Viktor Konetskii
Konetskii, Viktor Viktorovich
Born June 6, 1929, in Leningrad. Soviet Russian writer. Member of the CPSU since 1953.
A significant part of Konetskii’s work is devoted to the work and daily life of Soviet explorers of the polar seas. His collections of stories and novellas have included Crosswind (1957), Stones Beneath the Water (1959), Tomorrow’s Concerns (1961), The Moon by Day (1963), Fires on the Frozen Rocks (1964), Above the White Crossroads (1966), and He Who Looks at the Clouds (1967). He is also the author of the travel notes Salty Ice (1968–69) and Two Hundred Ten Days in the Ocean Orbit (1972). He wrote the screenplay for the comedy Striped Voyage (with A. la. Kapler, 1961).
