Beerenberg

an active volcano on the eastern part of Jan Mayen Island in the North Atlantic Ocean. Elevation, 2,277 m. The crater is filled with ice and nevé and feeds the glaciers (area, 70 sq km) descending its slopes. The elevation of the snow line is 600–900 m.
