Situated on the Orel’ River, a left tributary of the Dnieper, on the Moscow-Simferopol’ highway, 2 km from the Pereshchepino railroad station on the Kharkov-Dnepropetrovsk line. Population, 12,500 (1974). Pereshchepino has a grain elevator and plants that process hemp and manufacture reinforced-concrete articles. It also has a bread-baking plant and one of the divisions of the Novomoskovskii Milk Plant. There are gas deposits and a gas pipeline to Dnepropetrovsk.
