Apsheronsk

a city (until 1947, Apsheronskaia stani-tsia—large Cossack camp); center of Apsheronsk Raion, Krasnodar Krai, RSFSR; located on the Pshekha River (Kuban’ basin). Terminal station (Apsheronskaia) on the branch from the Armavir-Tuapse railroad line. Population, 33,400 (1968). Apsheronsk has a forestry and lumber-processing industry, an automobile-repair plant, and a state regional hydroelectric power plant.
