Apsil

(Absil), one of the ancient tribes that lived in the territory of modern Abkhazia and played a decisive role in the formation of the Abkhaz people. The Apsil were first mentioned in the works of Pliny the Younger in the first century A. D. The Apsil have not been mentioned in documents since the second half of the eighth century.
