Tyl Range

Tyl’ Range

 

a mountain range in Khabarovsk Krai, RSFSR. In the south, the Tyl’ Range joins the Taikan Range. It extends northwest between the Torom and Tyl’ rivers and measures approximately 100 km in length. The maximum elevation is 2,054 m. The range descends toward the Sea of Okhotsk from an elevation of 2,000 m to 200–400 m.

The Tyl’ Range is composed of granites and basalts. Its slopes are covered with spruce-fir forests and larch taiga. At higher altitudes there is a belt of dwarf cedar surmounted by bare peaks.
