Severnaia

a river in Krasnoiarsk Krai, RSFSR; a right tributary of the Nizhniaia Tunguska. The Severnaia is 321 km long and drains an area of 21,200 sq km. It originates in Lake Severnoe and flows across the Middle Siberian Plateau. It is fed primarily by snow. At its mouth, the mean flow rate is approximately 300 cu m per sec. The Severnaia freezes in October, and the ice breaks up in late May.
