Severo-Alichur

 

(also Bazardara), a mountain range in the Pamirs, in Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast, Ta-dzhik SSR, between the Alichur River and Lake Iashil’kul’ in the south and the Murgab River and Lake Sarez in the north. The range, which serves as a direct continuation of the Rushan Range in the east, has a length of approximately 130 km and elevations to 5,929 m (Mount Kulin). It is composed of granitoids, shales and schists, sandstones, and limestones. There are glaciers, with the area of glaciation totaling 316 sq km. Rocky high-mountain landscapes prevail, with cliffs and talus slopes. On the lower slopes, there is sparse high-mountain, cold-desert vegetation, primarily pulvinate plants.
