Pergalė

 

(Victory), a monthly illustrated journal of literature and the arts, published by the Writers’ Union of the Lithuanian SSR. It has appeared in Vilnius since 1945 and is the successor of the newspaper Tėvynė šaukia’s literary supplement, which in 1943 became an almanac. Until 1947, Pergalė was published once every two months. The journal publishes fiction, literary criticism, articles on topical subjects, and sketches. Since 1958 it has published a literary survey and news items. Circulation, approximately 13,000 (1975).
