Rîmnicul-Vîlcea

a city in central Rumania on the Olt River, administrative center of the district of Vîloea. Population, 47,200 (1974). Rîmnicul-Vîlcea has a chemical combine that produces chlorine and soda products and plastics, a plant for the production of chemical equipment, a wood-products combine, and leather-and-footwear and food-processing enterprises.
