Rõivas, Taavi
(tä`vē roi`väs), 1979–, Estonian political leader, b. Tallinn, grad. Univ. of Tartu. A member of the Reform party, Rõivas was an adviser to prime minister Andrus AnsipAnsip, Andrus,1956–, Estonian political leader. Ansip was an engineer (1979–83) before becoming an official of the Tartu district committee of the Estonian Communist party (1986–88).

He served as minister of social affairs (2012–14) and became prime minister of a Reform-led coalition government in 2014 after Ansip resigned. He remained in office following the 2015 elections, but his government collapsed in late 2016.
