Trostianets

 

a city (since 1940) and the administrative center of Trostianets Raion, Sumy Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Population, 20,700 (1975). Trostianets is situated on the Boromlia River, a tributary of the Vorskla. The city has a railroad station, Smorodino, on the Sumy-Liubotin line. Industry is represented by a machine-building plant, which produces equipment for the sugar industry, and the Elektrobytpribor Plant, which manufactures such products as knife switches, electric irons, and magnetic starters. Other industrial establishments include a seed factory, a sugar combine, a chocolate factory, and a wood-products combine that makes furniture and parquet.

an urban-type settlement and administrative center of Trostianets Raion, Vinnitsa Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Situated on the Trostianets River, a tributary of the Iuzhnyi Bug River. Terminus of a branch from the Vapniarka-Ziatkovtsy railroad line. Industry in Trostianets is represented by a meat-packing plant, a distillery, a creamery, and a mixed-feed plant. The settlement also has a poultry farm with a hatchery.
