supermode laser

supermode laser

[¦sü·pər′mōd ′lā·zər] (optics) Frequency-modulated laser, the output of which is passed through a second phase modulator driven 180° out of phase and with the same modulation index as the first modulator; all of the energy of the previously existing laser modes is compressed into a single frequency with nearly the full power of the laser concentrated in that signal.
