Vetluzhskii

an urban-type settlement in Kostroma Oblast, RSFSR. It is located on the left bank of the Vetluga River, 6 km northwest of the Shar’ia railroad station on the Kotel’nich-Galich line. Population, 11,200 (1968). Its industry includes a house-building combine, a plant producing reinforced-concrete products, a machinery and repair plant, and woodworking. A branch of the Kostroma Lumber Mechanical Technicum is located in Vetluzhskii.

an urban-type settlement in Krasnye Baki Raion, Gorky Oblast, RSFSR. It has a wharf on the right bank of the Vetluga River and a railroad station (Vetluzhaskaia) on the Gorky-Kirov line. Population, 7,500 (1968). The economy of Vetluzhskii comprises a wood chemistry combine, a sawmill, lumber floating, a livestock-fattening sovkhoz, a poultry factory, and a hatchery and poultry-breeding center.
