(until 1975, the settlement of Tyndinskii), a city under oblast jurisdiction in Amur Oblast, RSFSR; located on the Tynda River in the Amur River basin, on the Bol’shoi Never-Aldan Highway. In 1975, Tynda was connected by railroad line with the main line of the Trans-Siberian Railroad, and it will be served by a railroad station on the Baikal-Amur railroad line, which is under construction (1976). It has industrial enterprises servicing the construction of the Baikal-Amur main line.
