Facilities:92 tent/trailer/RV campsites, pioneer campground, 18 cottages, a yurt,33-room lodge and conference center, restaurant, swimming pool (lodgeand cottage guests only), lake, swimming beach, tennis courts, 7 picnicshelters, 2 group shelters, wooded trails (15.5 miles), paved trail(é), marina, 2 boat ramps, 2 docks, meeting facilities, miniaturegolf course.
Activities:Camping, boating, water skiiing, fishing, swimming, hiking, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Once an important mining area for iron, the park is named for the richred earth color of the soil caused by its high iron-ore content. Thepark is surrounded by Lake Allatoona, a 12,000-acre reservoir on theEtowah River, and includes a reconstructed 1860s log cabin (open andstaffed on Saturdays).
