Tao Ho


T’ao Ho

 

a river in China, a right tributary of the Huang Ho. The T’ao Ho is 555 km long and drains an area of 31,400 sq km. It rises in the eastern spurs of the Kunlun and flows primarily through mountainous country, flooding in the summer. The mean flow rate is approximately 160 cu m per sec. The river carries a lot of suspended alluvium and is used for irrigation. It flows through the cities of Min-hsien and Lin-t’ao.
