A state of obesity beyond morbid obesity, which is characterised by a body mass index (BMI) of > 50 kg/m2, exceeding the ideal weight by 225%, or ± 90-100 kg
Health risks 5-fold greater mortality than normal population, also arthritis, dyspnoea, cancer, depression, diabetes, gastro-oesophageal reflux, heart disease, hypertension, infertility, loss of bowel/urinary control, menstrual problems, obstructive sleep apnoea, swollen legs, and venous disorders
